Are you thinking about how to expose your children to Jewish culture and identity? Your family is welcome to ‘try out’ our Sunday School by visiting their grade’s class for the day. Kol Hadash Humanistic Congregation holds weekly Sunday School classes for students in First Grade through Ninth Grade Confirmation. Each class has a well-defined curriculum, covering topics in Jewish history, literature and culture. We encourage children to value their Jewish identity and to think for themselves. Our whole school -- students, teachers, and families -- come together to celebrate Jewish holidays as well as for special programs on Jewish culture, community service activities and more.

First Day of Sunday School

All adults are welcome to join this special program on the first day of Sunday School! Both programs are free and open to everyone. Children in 1st through 9th grade Confirmation will be in their Sunday School class. We have complimentary childcare for children up to age 6. And, if you want to see if we are a fit for your family, your child can join their grade's class for the day with our Sunday School Tryout. Advance registration required, please. There is no expectation of a commitment by attending.
Parents Gathering: Coffee & Community

While students are in class (and younger children are in our complimentary childcare), parents will head to our Parents Gathering: Coffee & Community. We’ll have coffee (and tea and water) and parents will have a chance to meet and chat with each other. We have heard it is nice to talk with other parents whose child is the same age as yours as well as to hear from those whose children are older. Also, we often get questions like: how does Kol Hadash do ‘this’ or ‘that’?, what can I expect in my child’s class?; and, how do we as humanists celebrate certain holidays? We will answer any of your questions about Sunday School, our congregation, humanism, etc.
Family Bagel Brunch & Activities

Afterwards, at our Family Bagel Brunch & Activities, students, teachers, parents and guests will come together for a tasty meal, enjoyable activities, and to connect with others in our community. It is free and open to everyone.
