Values in Action

How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment to improve the world."

— Anne Frank

We believe that human power can improve the world, and we live what we believe.

High Holiday Collection

For the High Holidays, we fill grocery bags with wish-list items for A Safe Place. Every year we deliver several carloads of groceries, toiletries and other household items. A Safe Place gives victims of domestic violence and their children the full spectrum of support they need to fully recover and transform their lives.

Winter Holiday Collection

In December, we collect gifts for needy children by participating in the Community Alternatives Unlimited holiday giveaway program. Community Alternatives Unlimited serves people in Lake County with developmental and mental disabilities, including children who are indigent and wards of the state.

Fleece Blanket Project

On Grandparents Day, the entire Sunday School, as well as many non-Sunday School families, meet after class to make blankets for children stricken with life-threatening illnesses. These blankets are distributed through Chai Lifeline.

Kol Hadash 5Kers

Team Kol Hadash 5K’ers walk and run in 5k races to raise money and awareness for selected non-profits.

Helping Hands

We are organized to help people within our own community when the need arises, such as providing a ride to a doctor’s office or grocery shopping, an occasional meal, a ride to services, or simply a helping hand.

Feed the Hungry

In 2017 we launched a partnership with PADS. In the past, we have partnered with other organizations to serve food to those who need it, including JUF Uptown Cafe, Feed My Starving Children, and Beth Emet Soup Kitchen.
