Kol Hadash is part of both the Chicagoland Jewish and Humanist communities, and the world-wide movement of Secular Humanistic Judaism. Find out more about our affiliated and partner organizations.

Kol Hadash was founded by 100 families in July 2001 in Deerfield, Illinois. Most of our founding members have been involved with Humanistic Judaism for many years, but we soon found that our message appeals to new families who had never heard of Humanistic Judaism.

Single and married people, LBGTQIA+ and straight families, with children and without, Jewish and multi-heritage households — all of us have found a home at Kol Hadash and feel connected to the Jewish family by birth, by marriage and by choice.
